The Parents Association, once again had gone to great efforts in organising the Christmas Hampers, raffle and tea and coffee for the event.  Once again I would like to extend my gratitude to the Parents Association Volunteers, and also to everyone who donated prizes for the raffle and bought tickets.  Your support is greatly appreciated and all monies raised will go to buying resources for the pupils.

Dave, from the Magic of Music, along with all of the Teachers and Support staff had put weeks of preparation and rehearsal into preparing the Pupils for their performance of  ’Hosanna Rock’ and the children rose to the occasion in putting their full enthusiasm and talents on show for the audience.  All of the Staff were extremely proud of the efforts of the Pupils and in turn the Pupils enjoyed their performance.

We were also delighted to welcome back Fr.Gary, our outgoing Chairperson who has transferred to Malahide.  Pupils presented Fr.Gary with some small tokens of appreciation and also 5th and 6th class sang Silent Night in French, which they learned in their French lessons with Ms.Butler and Ms.Mulryan.  We wish Fr.Gary all the best in his new parish and sincerely thank him for all that he has done for Scoil Cholmcille during his time in Donaghmede.

The event was a great success.

We were also delighted to be invited to sing in the Raheny Nursing Home on Harmonstown Rd.  The School Choir sang songs for the Staff and Residents of the Nursing home to spread some Christmas Cheer.  The Choir received a great welcome and their talent was appreciated.

Pupils from St.Kevins joined us in the hall along with Parents and Grandparents to welcome the Sam Maguire.

Stephen Behan our GAA coach had organised the event which was recorded by TV3 for a documentary which will be shown over Christmas.

The excitement was palpable throughout the school.

Details of a Halloween Fashion Show were announced where pupils would model their home made creative costumes on the catwalk of our school hall.

We could never have imagined the creativity and imagination that many pupils invested in their designs.  Perhaps there are some future fashion designers in our midst!

The Parents Association were on hand to provide tea and coffee to the supportive audience.  We were delighted to send a cheque to the ‘Trick or Treat for Temple St.’ campaign in support of their fundraising.

It was a source of great encouragement to children to purchase and rent books by the Author, enriching reading and discussion among the pupils.

We were delighted to have the opportunity to see the Sam Maguire Cup in person on September 23rd.  It caused huge excitement among pupils and staff alike!

Monies raised will go towards new books for the library and new science equipment so we really appreciate all those who supported our fundraising.
